puppets

when i was a kid i wanted to make puppets.  i loved puppets.  one day i got my grubby hands on an old pamphlet that taught how to throw your voice... this way you could make a puppet seem to talk... holy cow! you mean i make it look like my puppets are talking!  I learned a few basic vocal maneuvers like using the "Nnn" sound in place of the "Mmm" sound, this way my lips wouldn't come together and my audience -usually my sister- would think the puppet was actually speaking...

Ah what gift to have... i didnt get too far in my studies, so I stuck to making puppets and collecting them.  Kind of like Scooch.  Now Scooch ya see, he's got a thing for puppets.  connects with them on deep metaphysical levels.  somewhere in this young man's head there's a belief that his puppets can reveal hidden secrets about life... about his cousin Meghan.

Scooch rocks back and forth in his chair -kinda the way i did when i was a kid- and he communicates with his handmade puppets... maybe they tell him things, maybe they don't.  point is, Scooch believes.  oh yes he does. and as he rocks back and forth with his heavy metal music blasting through the boom box, Scooch dreams of two things: 1) seeing his cousin Meghan again and 2) putting on the best damn puppet act for the whole neighborhood to see

Scooch is a dreamer. everyone loves a dreamer
