Companions for life

Bucky Kaps spent much of his childhood wandering the gardens of a vacated mansion (see photo A) One day  while waiting for his friend Meghan, Bucky noticed a small furry object stuck behind a bush

Photo A (red arrow indicates approximate area of discovery)

The object turned out to be a stuffed lion doll with beaded eyes, sharp ivory teeth and realistic fur coat. Bucky took an instant liking to the doll and as the story goes, when Meghan arrived and saw it she gasped, "Puski"

Puski

a soul searching exploration

We have decided to devote the next several installments of this blog to, Puski; a stuffed lion manufactured in the late 1950's.  To date, Bucky Kaps has allowed only two people to handle Puski: Meghan Connor and a Russian female of questionable repute.

Please be patient while we exhaust this subject to its ultimate conclusion

Favorite Cousins

last known photo of Meghan Connor

facts reveal this photo may have been taken on the day of Meghan's disappearance.  Scooch appears to comfort Meghan who is clearly upset over her ongoing fights with her boyfriend, Shane.

For more information please refer to the film, Mnemonica

a peek inside the handmade box

After a long talk with Scooch, we have decided to release this photo.  Here are a few of the items found inside Scooch's handmade box

DNA studies reveal the keys were used by Meghan Connor

We're no experts, but those appear to be Tarot or Occult cards.  As for the face down card... well, the image is far too strange for this blog.  Scooch swears he found these cards on the ground outside the old power plant.

Famed Fortune Teller and Animal Psychic, Calvin Hopscotch

Calvin Hopscotch died in the late Nineteen Sixties.  He was best known for communicating psychically with small animals.  Unfortunately, Scooch refuses to discuss his fascination with Mr. Hopscotch

We believe this may be the true identity of Professor Krump

Scooch... The Lost Treasures

Yes, even the makers of this film are not beneath "snooping" around where we don't belong.  We found these items tucked away in a drawer in Scooch's desk.  Unfortunately for us, Scooch came home early that day.  We scrambled out the side door and prayed he wouldn't notice.

Here's what we found:

A constant source of inspiration for Scooch

rare photo of Scooch performing magic for his cousin Meghan

Meghan and Devil hand puppets
Polaroids.  Scooch and his "favorite cousin" Meghan

the handmade box and plans for puppet theater

The handmade box contained items which cannot be published at this time.  Needless to say, these items may lend a clue to the facts behind Meghan's abduction. They are currently being analyzed by experts in the field of psychic phenomena.

Frogs

Many have asked us about Alice Klosterman's interest in frogs.  The truth is, we are not entirely sure.  For more information on this and other mysteries surrounding Alice Klosterman, please refer to the film Mnemonica

Secret Societies, Satan the Big City and You!

Very little is known about the author of this book.  Some experts believe Professor Krump is a pseudonym used by the author in order protect himself and his family against the sinister groups he exposed.  When we stumbled across this rare treasure in an out of the way book shop on Long Island, we knew we had to include it in the film, Mnemonica.

We may never discover the true identity of Professor Krump

When writing the screenplay, I had the character Alice Klosterman read this book in a pivotal scene between her and Bucky KapsThis decision may have been deliberate.

Mnemonica

Three years ago I came up with an idea for a film about a young girl and her weirdo best friend.  This was going to be a simple story about two people from opposite ends of the world.  As all things seem to go, my idea evolved into a full length feature film with many actors, scenes and locations.  I filmed sporadically over the course of fifteen months.  During this time, the film went through various actor replacements and subsequent re-shoots.  If I wasn't satisfied with a performance or a scene or my directing or camera work, I called everyone back and did it over.

"Art is a game with one rule:  If you think you can do it better, you must do it again" -Gombrich

Myself and the cast and crew of Mnemonica lived by this credo for fifteen months.  The result is a uniquely surreal film which when all is said and done, amounts to a total Mind Fxxk.  I write this in all seriousness.  If you allow it, Mnemonica will suck you into its world and mess with your mind. How? It was purposefully constructed to induce a mild hypnotic state in the open minded viewer.  You must be receptive to psychological suggestion.  This is not to say the film cannot be enjoyed casually.  But if you relax and breath evenly, you will experience a kind of euphoria or what I refer to as "floating in space". Your eyes will follow the images and your ears with hear the sounds, but your mind will be carried away softly.  Don't worry, you will return to normal consciousness the moment the film ends.  You may even feel the urge to smile or say something nice to your loved ones.

We have entered the film into a great contest.  If we win the contest, Mnemonica will screen in 50 AMC movie theaters across the country.

puppets

when i was a kid i wanted to make puppets.  i loved puppets.  one day i got my grubby hands on an old pamphlet that taught how to throw your voice... this way you could make a puppet seem to talk... holy cow! you mean i make it look like my puppets are talking!  I learned a few basic vocal maneuvers like using the "Nnn" sound in place of the "Mmm" sound, this way my lips wouldn't come together and my audience -usually my sister- would think the puppet was actually speaking...

Ah what gift to have... i didnt get too far in my studies, so I stuck to making puppets and collecting them.  Kind of like Scooch.  Now Scooch ya see, he's got a thing for puppets.  connects with them on deep metaphysical levels.  somewhere in this young man's head there's a belief that his puppets can reveal hidden secrets about life... about his cousin Meghan.

Scooch rocks back and forth in his chair -kinda the way i did when i was a kid- and he communicates with his handmade puppets... maybe they tell him things, maybe they don't.  point is, Scooch believes.  oh yes he does. and as he rocks back and forth with his heavy metal music blasting through the boom box, Scooch dreams of two things: 1) seeing his cousin Meghan again and 2) putting on the best damn puppet act for the whole neighborhood to see

Scooch is a dreamer. everyone loves a dreamer
