Wherein we lift the curtain... just a bit

It has become clear to us that a certain level of honesty is important in any relationship.  And seeing as our intention is not to deceive but to enlighten, we at Mnemonica Headquarters thought it might be wise to disclose a few truths.  We do this in the spirit of good relations with you, our loyal and devoted followers. All we ask in return is that you maintain our little secret and consider it a bit of privileged, insider information for if these photo's ever leaked out into the populace, panic and mayhem would surely ensue.

Mr. Kaps... Where are you?

It seems in our excitement we may have offended Bucky Kaps who, as we unfortunately discovered, is much more sensitive than we initially believed

Mr. Kaps stormed out the bunker here at Mnemonica Headquarters.  He muttered something about Mr. Klosterman "discovering his secrets and ringing his neck."

As for us, we only wished to learn how he converted an ordinary projector (see photo below) into a sophisticated communications device.

Luckily he left it behind along with a few of his private workbooks. Research will continue to move forward.

Rest assured Mr. Kaps, your secret is safe with us.

The Scope: Initial Findings

We have begun preliminary testing on the black box, or as we like to call it, the Scope  (please see previous blog for important information regarding the Scope)

Working alongside Bucky Kaps has revealed the following:

1. The Scope was built to project still images.  It was never intended for use as a communication device

2. It is owned by the City Power Station and was loaned to Bucky by his employer, Mr. Klosterman

3. Bucky Kaps modified the Scope to receive transmissions from the City Power Station back to his home base

4. Mr. Klosterman is unaware of these modifications. Bucky prefers to keep it that way

5. The Scope may leak radiation  (current tests remain inconclusive on this point)

More information coming soon

The Scope

Manufactured in Beatrice Nebraska in the early 1960's, this simple device magnifies and projects still images.

We took it apart to better understand the inner workings

3" Diameter lens housed in alloy cylinder

Bucky Kaps loaned us a workbook (see photo below)  Here we see how the lens magnifies or exaggerates an image.  Combined with a light source, images can be manipulated and therefore better understood.

When switched on, the box emits a low gurgling hum through its top vents (see photo below)

We are running a battery of tests and Bucky Kaps has agreed to help.  We are grateful
